“Creating with an Image, Thread and a Vision” — Tasha Owen
Tasha Owen has been photographng weddings for a long time. Her superpower is that she doesn’t photograph weddings — she photographs stories. She takes this same storytelling approach to her quiltmaking in a most unique way. Her portraits begin with a prop or a concept (for example, a blue petticoat). She focuses her vision through photography and computer work, and the results are printed on fabric. She layers and quilts this printed cloth in a way that can only be described as magical. Her portraits have depth in the fullest meaning of the word: rich in texture and color, and revealing the soul of her subject.
